Job creation must accompany growth says PM Simpson-Miller

MONTEGO BAY,  Jamaica Oct. 23, 2014- Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller told a gathering of officials of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), other international organisations, Ministers of Finance and Central Bank Governors and other policy makers from across the Caribbean, that economic growth by itself will not be enough to lift the people of Jamaica and the Caribbean region to a significantly higher standard of living.

Red Stripe to invest US$10 million over 5 years

LOCAL brewing company Red Stripe says it will invest US$10 million over the next five years to set up a cassava supply chain that will help it offset barley imports for beer production. "It is not just about growing cassava, it's about setting up a cassava supply chain.

Portia leads clean up drive in her constituency

KINGSTON, Jamaica Oct. 5, 2014 - As the government continues its effort to control the spread of the Chikungunya virus,  (CHIK-V) across Jamaica Prime Minister, Portia Simpson Miller yesterday led by example with the clean-up in her South West St. Andrew constituency.
