PM wants Constructive Engagement to Advance Relations with Cuba

HAVANA, Cuba, December 8, 2014 - Jamaica's Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller has called for greater dialogue and constructive engagement in the effort to secure progress and prosperity for the people of Jamaica, Cuba and the rest of the Caribbean. She said Jamaica and Cuba shared a rich history and that Jamaica will continue to stand steadfast with Cuba in the struggle to attain peace, progress and sustainable development in that country, in Jamaica and in the entire Caribbean region.

Cuba pledges to maintain support for CARICOM

HAVANA, Cuba, December 8, 2014- Cuban President General Raul Castro Ruz told Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Leaders that despite his country’s economic difficulties, “we will honour our pledge to co-operate and share our modest achievements with our sister nations in the Caribbean.”

White House demands unconditional release of Alan Goss

Washington, Dec 5.- Amidst the world wide call by the United Nations and the overwhelming  majority of its Member states for the United States to release its fifty year old economic stranglehold against the Cuban government, the White House on Wednesday urged Cuba to release U.S. government subcontractor Alan Gross, who is serving a 15-year sentence on the Communist-ruled island after being convicted for subversion.
