Antigua PM Browne discuss correspondent banking with CDB, JNBS

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, Sept 13, CMC – Antigua and Barbuda Prime Minister Gaston Browne has held talks with officials of the Barbados-based Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) and the Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS) to discuss the region’s efforts at addressing the withdrawal of correspondent banking services.

As the ongoing public battle between the government of Antigua and with Sandals Resorts International,SRI, over the payment of taxes, founder and chairman of Sandals Resorts Gordon Butch Stewart has once again denied allegations made by Antigua and Barbuda’s Prime Minister Gaston Browne that Sandals has been retaining the lion's share of hotel room tax income, by what the Antiguan government has called “an unlawful agreement.”
