America, I'm embarrassed for you. Democracy, human rights, and freedom of speech were your calling card, now you've betrayed your ideals. All Cuba did was train our medical people for far less than we could, send scores of doctors, nurses, ophthalmologists, and surgeons to bolster our health care system;.
The Editor Sir:
Jamaicans have a saying, "Duppy know who to frighten." Trump can only punch down, never up. Little Donny must show his tummy when Putin barks or when Netyanahu blackmails him.
It's not clear what threat little Donny used, but he has twisted the arm of our feckless, cowardly PM into renouncing our relations with Cuba. All Cuba did was train our medical people for far less than we could, send scores of doctors, nurses, optomologists, and surgeons to bolster our health care system; build schools and clinics over the past half century.
What sort of man would deny poor folks medical care? A weak man who punches down, never up.
America, I'm embarrassed for you. Democracy, human rights, and freedom of speech were your calling card, now you've betrayed your ideals by knowingly electing a coward and an adjudicated criminal and rapist,, a cruel and viscious con man who is doing his utmost best to destroy the world's economy. Your rational? He hates the people I hate. That's how we see it.
Now, we see only a naked emperor exploiting a people whose only rational for existing is to consume, consume, and consume some more. Your democracy is being stolen through rigged elections. Your rights are being trampled while members of your highest court sits sanguine and your billionaire class applauds. As for your freedom of speech, it is now the freedom to lie.
You know there is so much more that could be said on the subject of our collective and individual cowardice, of betrayal by our political and monied classes, but enough said. America, I hope you can regain the ideals for which you once stood. First though, you must learn that your fellow Americans and other earthlings are not your enemy, but your fellow citizens.
