JAMAICA | Forty COVID-19 deaths, 74 new cases in last 24 hrs

KINGSTON, SEPTEMBER 11, 2020 –  As Jamaica continues to battle the COVID-19 virus amidst the recently announced community spread, the Ministry of Health & Wellness confirms two new COVID-19-related deaths bringing the total number of  deaths to 40 (1.1%), while three more deaths in COVID-19 positive individuals are under investigation.

JAMAICA | Andrew Holness, four ministers sworn in, Chang Deputy PM

KINGSTON, September 7, 2020 – Jamaica Labour party (JLP) Leader Andrew Holness in the wake of his 48-15 seat victory over its rival Peoples National Party, (PNP), in Thursday’s general elections, was today sworn-in for a second consecutive term as Prime Minister of Jamaica. Four key ministers in the Holness Cabinet have also been sworn-in.

JAMAICA | Thirty-Three dead from COVID-19, total cases: 3,103.

KINGSTON,  September 7, 2020 - The Ministry of Health & Wellness has confirms one new COVID-19-related death. The deceased is a 54 year old male from St. James. The total number of deaths now stand at 33 (1.1%), while five more deaths in COVID-19 positive individuals are under investigation.
