GUYANA | APNU/AFC's Walton Desir wants release of Guyana Fisherfolk in Venezuela

GEORGETOWN, Guyana, January 27, 2021 -  Shadow minister of Foreign Affairs Amanza Walton Desir, today held discussions with Guyana’s Foreign Minister Hugh Todd, in an effort to expedite the release of several Guyanese fishermen being held by the government of Venezuela after their fishing vessels were intercepted and seized last Thursday.

GUYANA | Venezuelan Navy seize Guyanese fishing vessels in Guyana Economic Zone

GEORGETOWN, January 24, 2021 - Guyana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has launched an investigation into the circumstances under which two Guyanese registered fishing vessels – the Lady Nayera and the Sea Wolf – operating off the coast of Waini Point within Guyana’s Exclusive Economic Zone, were intercepted by the Venezuelan military.

GUYANA | Guyana Defence Force, US Dept.of Defense sign logistics agreement

GEORGETOWN, January 14, 2021 - The Guyana Defence Force (GDF) on Tuesday signed an Acquisition and Cross-Service Agreement with the United States Department of Defense. The Agreement will facilitate reciprocal logistical support between the two countries that caters for combined exercises, deployment, training and other cooperation efforts.
