BARBADOS | Mottley objects to EU's Blacklisting of Barbados, Anguilla

Bridgetown, BARBADOS. October 6, 2020: Barbados' Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley has  challenged the European Union’s decision to list Barbados as a Non-cooperative Jurisdiction for Tax Purposes. In a statement today, Prime Minister Mottley described the action as reprehensible, unjustified and disproportionate, noting that "this might be regarded as bullying at worst and at best, actions to preserve the competitiveness of the EU."

JOHNS,  Antigua, July 20, 2020 - In a last-ditch effort to save the cash strapped regional airline LIAT from liquidation, Antigua and Barbuda’s prime minister Gaston Browne was today expected to meet with two of the airlines largest shareholders, Barbados and St. Vincent and the Grenadines, where he is expected to pitch his newly minted plan to save the airline that calls for the injection of US$40M in new equity.
