NEW YORK —New York, October 11, 2025 -  Tennis legend Serena Williams presented Jamaican sprinter Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce with a Tiffany crown Friday at the ATHLOS competition at Icahn Stadium, honoring the retiring track star's career achievements.

The ceremony recognized Fraser-Pryce's "lifetime of speed and excellence" and her legacy in track and field, according to event organizers.

Alexis Ohanian, Williams' husband and ATHLOS founder, announced the crowning earlier in the week during a CBS Mornings interview with Fraser-Pryce.

"This is the legend Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce… Even as an outsider to the sport, you know this name, you know this icon," Ohanian said. "Something that was so important for us is not just to have a special Tiffany crowning moment for Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce at our event but also another GOAT (greatest of all times), Serena Williams, she is going to be the one doing the crowning."

Ohanian said the moment "aligns with what we are trying to build here, the future of track and field really like a Formula One type model."

Fraser-Pryce, who recently announced her retirement, said she plans to continue working in athletics.

"I have given 18 wonderful years to track and I think it is time for me to do more off the track," she said. "I have done so much for the sport, I think as a country, for Jamaica, for track and field, for women sprinting, I really want to continue to elevate the sport using my voice in another lane."

Career Highlights

Fraser-Pryce burst onto the international stage at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, where she won gold in the 100m and became the first Caribbean woman to claim that title. Over her 18-year career, she established herself as one of the most decorated sprinters in history and one of a growing list of Jamaican track and field athletes to dominate the world stage.

Her medal collection includes eight Olympic medals and 17 World Championship medals. She won the 100m world title five times and captured Olympic gold in the event at both the 2008 Beijing and 2012 London Games. Fraser-Pryce also earned multiple medals in relay events throughout her career.

Known for her signature colorful hairstyles and explosive starts, Fraser-Pryce became a dominant force in women's sprinting and a global ambassador for Jamaican track and field.

Her final competitive appearance was at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, where she earned a silver medal in the women's 4x100m relay.
