New era of relations between Jamaica and T&T

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Friday, September 02, 2016 – Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, Honourable Olivia Grange says the most recent exchanges between Jamaica and the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago is clear indication of a new and momentous era in bilateral relations between the Caribbean nations.

IMF delegation for talks in Jamaica

KINGSTON, Jamaica, Jul 20, CMC – A delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is due to arrive here Wednesday for talks with the Andrew Holness government on an appropriate programme for the island following the completion of the current agreement that ends next year., Finance Minister Audley Shaw has said.

Byles differs with Shaw on IMF sanctions

KINGSTON, July 13, 2016-  Co-Chair of the Economic Programme Oversight Committee (EPOC), Richard Byles, is not seeing eye to eye with Finance Minister Audley Shaw who announced that at the end of the current economic programme, there would be a less stringent Staff Monitoring programme implemented without the full participation of the IMF.

Persons earning above J$6M to pay 30% Income Tax as of July 1, 2016

KINGSTON, JAMAICA JUNE 27, 2016 - As of July 1, 2016, persons who earn above J$6-million per annum will see a 5% upward movement in the tax charged on their income, moving from 25% to 30% as announced during the FY2016/17 Budget presentation, by the Minister of Finance and the Public Service, Audley Shaw.
