KINGSTON, Jamaica, March 14, 2015 - Finance and Planning Minister Dr. Peter Phillips, has vigourously defended the Government’s decision to purchase a hedge in the market against the risk of a sharp increase in the price of oil.
Jamaica will now be better able to respond to and recover from natural and man-made disasters through a provision of $96 million (¥100 million) in grant funding from the Government of Japan, for the purchase of medical supplies and heavy equipment.
KINGSTON, February 20 2015 - The Government has presented a budget of $641.56 billion for fiscal year 2015/16, with $432.57 billion earmarked for Recurrent expenses and $208.98 billion for Capital development.
