JAMAICA | JAS Supports Small Farmers in Medicinal Cannabis

KINGSTON, Jamaica, November 9, 2018 - The Jamaica Agricultural Society has sent a strong signal to the administration that it will not be left behind in the thrust by government to develop medicinal cannabis as a major export industry. This is the word from JAS President Lenworth Fulton who says his organisation will be fighting for the inclusion of small ganja farmers in the development of the industry.

JAMAICA | Gov't Approves Department of a Natural Disaster Risk Policy

KINGSTON, Jamaica, November 7, 2018- Cabinet yesterday approved the development of a Policy on National Disaster Risk Financing. The Policy is set against the backdrop that Jamaica between 1993 and 2003 suffered from 26 natural disasters which resulted in total losses and damage of USD 2.22 billion (JMD 285.91 billion).
