KINGSTON, Nov 6, 2017- Jamaica's opposition spokesman on youth and culture, Damion Crawford, says he is not happy with being excluded from activities organized by the government in commemmoration of  National Youth Month.

In a media release today, Crawford said "I Having been appointed spokesperson on Youth and Culture, intend to take my role in the business of governance seriously and hope that the Ministry of Education, Youth and Information will allow me the opportunity to contribute to the process in a meaningful way.

"I am, therefore, expressing concern that, to date, I have not received an invitation to any of the activities being carried out by the Ministry of Youth and Education. Not the least of which is the current plans for the national celebration of youth month."

The statement issued from the Opposition PNP said "While it’s is our aim to position and present ourselves as an alternative Government there is nothing to gain from seeking to be a dual Government. I wish for my participation to be facilitated in the national activities."

Such collaboration for the youth month activities would be in line with both parties commitment to youth and youth issues Therefore I embrace the Government’s youth month program including the theme “Substance over Hype” and stand ready to participate in any or all activities that the Ministry of Youth and Education perceive that I can be of value to.
